How to Tell Your Hamster Its Name
Allow your hamster to wake up - on their own, if you wake them up yourself they may bite or hiss, and it won't be the hamster's fault!
Gather your hamster's favorite treats.Seeds and vegetables are a good choice as seeds can be fed daily and vegetables every other day. For Syrians and Roborovskis, fruit can be fed once a week.
Get your hamster's attention with the treat, then say his/her name in a clear voice.Immediately give them the treat. Repeat this every day for a week.
Begin saying your hamster's name before showing them the treat. After you are confident that your hamster can recognize its name, you may begin pulling back on the treats, but still give them treats every so often.
Your hamster should now be able to recognize its name without needing a treat.Congratulations!
