What preservatives are currently used

The most common of them are: sorbic acid (E200), sodium sorbate (E201), potassium sorbate (E202), benzoic acid (E210), sodium benzoate (E211), potassium benzoate (E212). Sodium sulfite (E221), sodium hydrosulfite (E222), and ammonium acetate (E264) are also often used. Of the natural preservatives, acetic acid (E260) is most commonly used.
When processing fruits, especially those intended for long-term transportation, as well as during their storage, sulfur dioxide (E220) is used. For the perfumery, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, you can use the same nutritional supplements. Also used natural or synthetic essential oils.
There is still no consensus on the extent to which it is permissible to use synthetic preservatives, especially in the food industry.
